To be honest, looking through your code comparisons and, especially, your example with the date…

I fail to understand what has jQuery to do with a reactive framework. Here I have a perfectly working, well tested date-picker plugin, built in jQuery, and I want to use it my application. What is wrong with that? I might as well use a pure JavaScript library — what difference is it gonna make? It will not be reactive either. As far as performance is concerned, it totally depends on the project requirements.

The example I have given is a standard way of making a component in Vue — you watch value prop for change, and you emit event on change internally. I understand that it may not be best of the examples, but I chose give an actual problem that I faced, instead of creating an artificial example.

Update: I have added more explanation to the example at the end of the article.
