My Spiritual Journey
My new journey started all of a sudden around May 2012.
I never thought I would be into meditation though my paternal grandfather, my child hood companion, always used to meditate in early hours every single day.
I have spent my childhood in my maternal grandmother’s house too. There also I noticed that my grandmother woke up in early hours and did her Sadhna in the freezing cold mornings of Srinagar, Kashmir. Their dedication amazes me to this day.
I wondered if meditation ran in my blood, and started finding signs that God wanted me to start as well.
I use to pray religiously and went to Temple every Thursday, regardless of the weather. My devotion to Baba was so deep that I didn’t believe there was anything beyond my level of devotion.
When I started doing my meditation, I was not regular in the beginning and was hesitant of going to Ashram every Sunday and even to Bandara’s but after listening to Master Kamleshji in a conversation on this question, I found my courage and started going to Ashram on Sundays without fail and this gave me further strength to go on Bandara’s too. With passage of time I noticed that everyone in my family had started getting used to this new development in me.
No doubt it needs lot of courage to live with people in the home where everyone else is a non-abhyasi but with absolute faith and love for Master, everything starts falling in its place automatically.
I have got tremendous support from my preceptors, from brothers and sisters, who have given me immense strength to move on in my journey. I am very grateful to all of them.
While continuing on this journey of mine, I have made it a point to always try to share the heartfulness meditation program, whether it be with the people in the development where I live or at a get together anywhere else, or at Princeton hospital or GSCSNJ where I volunteer. Many people enjoy doing relaxation technique on their own now and people in my development have told me that they will be joining after Holiday season, hopefully in 2016.
By doing heartfulness meditation it has brought immense change in my own self, like I do my Abhyas daily without ever missing a single day (I religiously try to follow my 5 appointments with Master daily). I have developed a lot of patience and inner peace which keeps my mind regulated and under check. Lastly I have developed keen desire to read mission books daily, that too without any break. Hopefully I am able to keep up with this pledge.
I sincerely recommend people to give heartfulness meditation a try and then follow what your heart says, your heart will itself guide you in this process.
