Actually, many, if not most, lactation counselors recommend not to give a very young breastfed baby…

Why do so many women make excuses and push the notion that a mother must be constantly tethered to her baby via breastfeeding? It’s Patriarchy in action, it’s oppressive, and it’s anti-woman.

Bottles are hygienic, convenient, portable, won’t pass drugs, alcohol, or diseases (like hepatitis) on to the baby, and don’t require the caregiver to have boobs. They also allow women to hand the kid off to hubby or a sitter and get “me time”. Or to work. You know, that important thing adults do for money, so they can afford the baby? Due to that alone, bottles are clearly the Superior. Feeding. Method.

You, Annie, make me ashamed to have an XX genotype.
