It’s that time of the month, where you get to recon your bank statement with Freshbooks. A number of unpaids from last month crop up, and I begin emailing client to check if they’re paid, maybe I’ve just missed the payment.

I dawned on me, that in every single email, I could you use a smiley face. This may seem like a fairly mundane event, but I have a good enough relationship with all my clients, that in an email reminding them to pay, I can still be a little casual.
