My Goals for 2016!
I have never made a goal list before. Of course, I have goals in mind, but I have never physically written them down. But it was brought to my attention in a recent Periscope session that it would be a very good idea as we were heading into a new year. So here is my list:
- Be a better husband and father.
- Lose weight. This includes killing off sugary drinks, NOT eating when I am NOT hungry, and exercising daily.
- Be a POSITIVE person. I have realized that too often, I am the most negative person in the room. Happy, nice, kind…. POSITIVE.
- Make more videos. I enjoy making videos for Youtube. There were many times in 2015 that I wanted to make something new and I didn’t. This is one of my top creative outlets, so it is on my mind a lot. For the start of the year, I decided to mix this with losing weight. Here is episode 1 that I uploaded today.
- Write more. I always feel that if I could just sit and type, there would be an interesting story or amazing thoughts that would come out. I need to make more time for that. And I will say that writing on here should count too. I like Medium.
- Watch more movies. I love film. All aspects of film interest me and inspire me. Researching how a film was made and recognizing the work that went into my entertainment is very important to me. I will make more time for this.
- Handle stress better. Stress owned me in 2015. Sure, I did not have near as much going on in my life as others did, but I failed at keeping my head too many times. This has to change for 2016. Breathe and breathe and breathe and…
- Be more social. I avoided people a lot in 2015. Most of the time it was for no other reason than being too lazy to focus on a conversation. And even really caring… But I plan to care more in 2016. That goes back to being a POSITIVE person.
- Help others more. People go out of their way for me all the time, I need to be that guy for others.
Well… there is the basic list I created. We shall see how it goes… Happy New Year and good luck with 2016. Make it a good one!
