In my opinion, Google Drive has two major advantages over Dropbox:

1. Free (both in price and storage) replacement for Word, Powerpoint and Excel. I’m a writer, and I have used Google Documents for years. It is really powerful.
2. Better designed web interface, that allows you to add colors and descriptions to your folders and files directly from the web.

Keep in mind that Google Drive can be downloaded and integrated with your desktop (windows or Mac) the same way Dropbox does, so Google Drive becomes a folder on your computer much of the same way.

There are more benefits to Drive straight out of the box that might not be relevant in your case, like the integration with the new Photos app.
