Rob, this is an amazing analysis. One of the conversations I’m having with black baby boomers is that our boomer is not “their” boomer. I’m on the cusp of boomers and Gen X (birth of mainstream hip hop, EWF September, Fishbone, Labelle…) and some others are (Hendrix, EWF Keep Your Head to the Sky, Patti Labelle and the Bluebells…). That said, Afropunk is the quintessential convergence of that diversity, including tech use and all of those beautiful black affirmations of power. Thank you for this, sir.
