Leadership and commitment

Influential leaders at every level cultivate a particular set of skills to enable them to move faster for the achievement of their goals and influence people outside of their remit.

There is one approach to leadership in my opinion which is known as “command and control”. In today’s workplace, influential leadership usually leads to stronger and better results, but it takes a bit of know-how to get it right.

I believe that a leader who applies influence rather than asserts authority is likelier to succeed.

Being a leader I don’t need to cede control altogether, just apply it strategically and without micromanaging. Respecting the dignity of every single member leads to a strong future. The tag of a “leader” is sometimes just a formality for me.

Being a team lead, targets can be achieved in many different ways, what I follow are as:

•Driving health and strategical plans forward with your management team.

•Making goals, improvement and professional learning a topic of everyday conversation.

•Setting clear expectations and encouraging (self and others) accountability.

•Analyzing outcomes of activities.

•Training and investing in all areas of personal development, mindset growth and success journey.

•Being honest and open to the team about targets, improvement plans or any misconduct.

•Striving to continually raise the profile of the company keeping personal evaluation and growth in mind.

Indeed, valuable work comes from people who know how valuable they are, and when they commit to bringing their best work, it’s because they can see how much their organization and their leaders will value it.

Leadership commitment and team commitment go hand in hand. If you want team who are committed to their work, it’ll require commitment from you to believe in and communicate the company/organization direction and purpose. I found that my team was very responsive and professional. They all are fully responsible of each and every act they were performing. They always let me know about their actions and ideas. It means paying attention to how your team unique abilities and personalities align with organization values and culture, and showing them that their value is more than a price tag.
