Even just the title pisses me off.

When white men kill black women, it’s a hate crime?

I’m sorry, are YOU the judge and jury to know what a person’s motivations are? Much less the motivations of every single white man who has ever killed a black woman?

Are YOU in a position to make blanket statements about people based only on their race as if you were stating absolute truth?

No? I didn’t think so. You want to make a difference to decrease racism, a good start would be — and this is a crazy thought, I know — to stop making assumptions about people based on their race. I remember back in the day when that was the main thrust of anti-racist ideology, not this craziness these days where people think the solution to racism is to constantly put race at the forefront of everything. Nothing says “racial harmony” like insisting that everyone identify with their race above every other thing they could identify with. Nothing says “let’s be reasonable” like espousing an ideology that pits white people against “people of colour” (ie. literally everyone who is not white).

A good start would be taking crimes as individual cases. A person of one race (and no, it’s not always white-on-whoever else) can harm a person of another race for any number of reasons not related to their race. Try being objective instead of reading race tensions into every single thing out there.
