Gone too soon

Cleveland Elementary School

Innocence filled the schoolyard

Laughter and the roar of children playing and talking

Unsuspecting victims

An ordinary day

Out of nowhere

Joy is replaced with evil

A round of unmistakable bangs silence the stale air

These things do not happen here

School was supposed to be a safety

Now it is a tomb

Tiny bodies lay lifeless

Surrounded by a nasty pool of blood

The guilty party pulls the trigger

He too has fallen to a heap on the concrete

He will not face the repercussions of his actions
