I absolutely have seen the results of childhood friends of mine that were not required to help around their house at a young age. Many got to college and did not know how to do their own laundry, or clean a bathroom, definitely makes for some gross dorm rooms/ apartments. So I definitely appreciated what my mom had me do as a child and the independence she instilled on me for when I moved out to start my own life.
