Bravo! Another excellent post!

I believe that medical practitioners and medical facilities need to be held responsible for misdiagnosis. I know most of these entities are protected by lawyers and can’t be touched, however, that needs to change. If a doctor, such as the rheumatologist you wrote about, had to face consequences as a result of misdiagnosis, or lack of diagnosis, perhaps she would reconsider her treatment choices.

I agree that there needs to be a revolution in healthcare. You should have been better cared for. There are many other people who suffer from the same neglect, and like you, have no means to protect themselves from corporate systems that are created to make money instead of helping people.

Although I understand you may not be comfortable naming the doctor(s) who’ve been neglectful, I honestly think that if people began holding practitioners accountable by naming them and other courses of action, that there my be some change. These same people and organizations have absolutely no problem coming after an individual if they don’t pay their outrageous medical bills on time. WTF?! Should you be legally forced to pay for services that weren’t rendered??

I know all about fat shame. I’ve had my own experiences with doctors who’ve written me off as just needing to lose weight. It’s disgusting!

I appreciate that you’re sharing personal accounts! You are helping others!
