Planning a wedding is hard. Like, really hard. You’ve found the person you want to spend the rest of your life with, but now you have to plan the dang thing. Venue, flowers, catering… all of it means you have to find the perfect vendors to fit you and your partner’s wedding vision.

While the idea may seem daunting, finding the best vendor for your wedding doesn’t need to be scary. Here are a few tips and tricks for finding your vendors:

  1. Make Sure Your Personalities Match

You are going to be spending a lot of time with your wedding vendors. They are going to be with you throughout the planning process and of course will be there on the actual day of the event. Naturally, some vendor relationships are more important than others. For example, I am a firm believer that you find a photographer that you really mesh with as you and your partner will need to feel completely comfortable around them in order to get the best pictures.

2. Get Client Recommendations

According to BridalGuide.com, you’ll want to get reviews from real clients of these vendors. The company’s website is not always the most reliable, you’ll want to talk to real people that used this caterer/venue/make-up artist and can tell you what they were really like. There are lots of Facebook groups out there where you can connect with couples in your area, and there’s lots of advice to be had on them.

3. Keep Open Communication

This goes for both before and after you’ve booked the vendor. Make sure to keep the line of communication open between you and your vendor so you know that you are always on the same page.

4. Ask a Lot of Questions

This one is important. There’s no way you’ll be able to get the information you need if you don’t ask questions. It’s a good idea to sit down with your partner and compile a list of questions that you have for the potential vendor.

Wedding planning is tricky, but finding your vendors doesn’t need to be.
