S*HE Envisions a Beautiful Future, Now.

As we honor Earth Day 2016, the team at S*HE Living TV thought it would be appropriate to put our vision of a beautiful future out into the universe. What if this beautiful future that we envision is here, now?

We are in the year 2044 looking back at this time in 2016 — celebrating, smiling at the work we’ve done, the key role that women played in this new era, the care we’ve taken to nurture ourselves and this planet; proud of the beautiful future that is here, now. Gather and hold this beautiful vision with us.

S*HE is here — finally here. Now, we can give thanks and begin the remembrance. We are gathered in a building that is open to the sky almost all of the time. Rainfolk welcomed the skywater with song, drums and bells a few days ago and the musky sweetness of moss and ferns lingers in the air. Their music is so beautiful. Any water that is not absorbed by the plant-walls is stored in vast networks of freshwater pools and streams that circulate and nourish life throughout the city.

The walls here appear to be over 6 meters in thickness. They are calcium/lime accretions formed on top of the concrete towers and blocks, that we have wrapped with roots, mycelia and soil. Plants grow both inside and out from the living structures. Water, air and light tubes pass naturally through the dense but porous plant and food-walls, while inside, there is almost no change in temperature. They say the work-world was very religious and worshiped combustion. They were building concrete towers as fast as possible to become new coral reefs as the oceans heated and rose. It is said that the Earth women and the Rainfolk came together just before 2044 to plant the towers and bring forth most of the systems that sustain our Life Garden Cities now.

Today, the grandmothers are gathering us together for a remembrance. This is a time of celebration, when we remember all the creatures, places and people that led us in the Great Turning. A beautiful future is here, now.
