Times have definitely changed! I always believed that a certain group of people has total control over gaming, finance, and the like. But being in this era, proved me wrong. Thanks to decentralized markets on the web!
Projects or Decentralized applications (dApps) are digital applications or programs that exist and run on a blockchain or peer-to-peer (P2P) network of computers instead of a single computer.
They are developed for a variety of purposes including gaming, finance, and social media.
What is Cronos?
Cronos runs on Proof of Authority (POA), a more streamlined and scalable consensus mechanism.
Currently, there are 151 dApps run on the Cronos platforms, according to DappRadar. The dapps are spread across Defi, Collectibles, exchanges, gambling, gaming, and marketplaces.

What is CRO Coin?
At the center of the Cronos Chain is the CRO token.
Cronos (CRO) certainly performed well over the course of 2021, increasing 1,400% from January to November 2021, and it is still trading above its yearly averages from 2018, 2019, and 2020.
The primary function of CRO is for staking; users who wish to support the network’s Proof of Stake consensus mechanism and to enable activities of the community.
It can also be used to pay for transactions on two parallel blockchains, and pay for gas fees on the Cronos Chain!
The CRO token is also used to participate in the governance of the network!

One of the interesting dApp projects built on Cronos is Crowboys.online, which describes itself as a Free-To-Play & Compete-To-Earn Western X-Platform First Person Shooting Game-Fi!!
What I love about this game is each 3D model is an NFT with its own utility and value! They are community focus also as Holders of NFTs and Tokens will be treated as the stakeholders of the project.
Also, I am a woman who loves cowboy-themed games that’s why it’s on my list!
THE GAMEPLAY:
The game consists of genesis NFTs for early backers, NFT Crowboys Avatars, NFT weapons(melee, ranged, and explosives), NFT skins, NFT horses, and NFT Properties like Saloon, Mine, and Jail to let it work in the Wild West and earn passively for you some $WEST Token.
THE TOKENS: WILD and WEST.
WILD is going to be used as the governance token while WEST, on the other hand, is going to be used for in-game transactions only.

2) dApps built on Cronos: VVS Finance
Another interesting dApp project built on Cronos is VVS Finance — a very, very simple Defi Trading platform for All.
Their several utilities and providing low gas fees had piqued my interest. In addition, users can earn digital tokens by providing liquidity, trading, staking and even mining.
- Liquidity providers (LPs): ⅔ of swap fees collected are distributed to the LPs of the respective pools. Those who stake eligible LP tokens in the “Crystal Farm” tab will receive VVS rewards.
- VVS stakers: Those who stake VVS in the “Glitter Mine” tab will receive VVS / partner token rewards.
- Trading incentives: Those who swap tokens on VVS Finance will receive rewards.
- Referral program: Those who refer users to trade on VVS Finance will receive rewards.

3) dApps built on Cronos: EbisusBay
Last but not the least, Ebisu’s Bay — The first decentralized NFT Marketplace on Cronos! I love dapps that are pioneers, so this one caught my eye and this is in the top 10 of 24-hour volume trading in DappRadar as of writing! That’s really something!
They are one of the largest marketplaces for trading Non-Fungible Tokens (NFT) on the Cronos network. They also offer launchpad opportunities for artists.
They recently hosted an NFT Collection of an artist based in Washington.
They also host a Charity Ball! It was an event for NFT project developers to collaborate with their communities to raise funds for their favorite charities. This comes to a total of 71816CRO & £615.
The funds raised were sent to the following charities:
- The Jane Goodall Institute — A global conservation organisation
- Rhythm Club — Equestrian Club that helps children
- SaddleupNashville — Horse therapy for children

They are active on their social media and they make sure that they give exposure to projects that are listed on their marketplace.
They have low service costs and have a good relationship with their community and I think that’s their strong suit and helps them pave their way to the top!

FINAL THOUGHTS
Decentralized apps have gained the attention of crypto users including me. And I know that it is because of the ability to transact without interference from the government or central organization and with utmost privacy without restriction! Also, it's one way of helping people with little trading expertise make profits and swap easily to crypto coins.
Cronos is fast becoming a destination of choice for applications that seek to grow their ecosystems by bridging to as many different blockchains as possible.
