This seems to be a running theme for the airlines, not just American. At least your creep was taken into custody. On a United flight in first class, I awoke from a nap to the creep next me touching me inappropriately. I went to the flight attendants. Shockingly, I was told they had seen him touching me and did nothing because they assumed we were traveling together (mind you I was one of the first on and he was one of the last on). They sent me with a cup of coffee back to my seat next to the guy who had committed sexual battery against me. I was in shock. They didn’t notify the authorities. And when I lodged a complaint after landing, I received a generic blanket email about them conducting a proprietary internal investigation and I wouldn’t receive the results. Multiple requests for information in order to prosecute the man, were met with the same generic email and no action other than circling the wagons. No attorneys I spoke with were interested in taking my case. Meanwhile, I have suffered with nightmares, panic attacks, anxiety, sleep disorders, and a sudden fear of flying for the past three years. I’m a veteran who found myself suddenly retiring after the death of my husband, and I was flying to a job interview. They added to my already overwhelming pain.
