FDA Prepares for a Golden Age in Gene Therapy

In June this year, the Commissioner of the Food and Drug Adminstration (FDA), Scott Gottlieb, announced that he expects to see 40 new gene therapies approved by 2022. This comes from a recent MIT report which predicts cures in diseases like blindness, sickle cell anemia and hemophilia within 10 years.
