After joining Seongnam (then Ilhwa) in 2002 and moving to Incheon United, which was born as the first civic team in the Seoul metropolitan area in 2004, he played for eight years and established himself as an “Incheon Legend” and retired after playing for a year and a half at Gangwon FC through Busan in 2012.

He entered the professional league as a left midfielder and transformed into a fullback with his new defensive skills, and then dominated the “left side of the K League” by running long until the age of 34.

Since then, he has opened the heyday of Daegun High School by taking charge of Incheon Daegun High School from 2015 to 2016 and raising Jung Woo-young (Sutugart), Chun Seong-hoon, Park Hyun-bin (Incheon), and Koo Bon-cheol (Gimcheon), and has since blossomed in Vietnam as a leader. After moving to Vietnam as a Viettel coach in 2019, he took over as the head coach of strong team Hanoi FC in 2021 and took charge in 2022 and led to two championships, the first division and the Cup.

However, since then, he has stepped down from Hanoi FC because there is no P-level license, and now he is seeking a new career path with various doors open.

“I enjoyed visiting young players and watching them grow up in person at Dae Konkuk High School. It was a time when I realized the joy of development,” he said in a recent meeting in Incheon’s Yeonsu-gu district. “Since then, the days of Hanoi FC were different again. Perhaps because there were many Vietnamese national team members in the team, the players had strong self-esteem. It was exciting to watch them play along and lead them to victory at times.”

Hanoi FC recently made headlines by beating defending champion Urawa Reds (Japan) in the Asian Football Confederation Champions League (ACL), and Jeon also said, “Thank you for growing up well and it was nice to hear from the players.”

However, he feels even more proud when he sees his high school students in Europe and the K-League. “Even though Dae Konkuk High School is about to hold an important competition, if players want to advance to Germany and say they will take a test, he will gladly let my students go to Germany for their development. Chung Woo-young, the top scorer in men’s soccer at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games, is a masterpiece that was created in this way.

“The memory of winning is sweet and good, but I feel better when my students contact me,” he said. “Winning is over in a week, but the reward of raising good players remains over time,” he said. “In the case of Jung Woo-young, I tried to play several positions in high school and concluded that the left wing was the most suitable position. Since then, many teams use him as an offensive midfielder, and I felt that he was similar to when I was raising him, seeing that Hwang Sun-hong uses Jung Woo-young well in the Asian Games.”

This is also the reason why they want to put the suggestions of Vietnamese clubs behind them and put them in the K-League regardless of their status.

“You learn until you retire. When I was a coach in Vietnam, I thought about Korea a lot,” Jeon said. “When I was a coach in Seongnam, Incheon, and Gangwon, I got good results and fought for the relegation zone. After transforming into a leader, I worked for a high school team and achieved good results as a coach and a coach in Vietnam.”

“Now I’m waiting to get back to the K-League. There is no good fullback in Korean football these days, but I hope my know-how will be delivered in that respect as well,” he said. 토토사이트 순위
