Photography is constantly evolving since the 1980's and is still happening today From the latest Camera phones to lenses and Camera bodies. It has changed the way we feel, think, store and share photographs. It has open so many opportunities for influencers, Travelers, Marketers and Sport events, Social media and for any average person that owns a camera. It is such an exciting industry to be apart of. Here are my Top 5 innovations that have had a major impact on photography and I will share the business that are taking advantage of these innovation

1. Film Photography

Film was one of the first ways we captured photos and is making a popular comeback today. It was by chance you captured a sharp image and fingers crossed nobodies eyes were closed in the picture, You did not have the luxury of flicking through your photos on a digital screen, instead had to wait weeks for them to be processed. Levi Bettwieser shared in his TedTalk that those blurry family film images were real and honest, unedited and genuine, We physically held those pictures where as today we store it on our phones. Post and forget about it.

A Company that has taken advantage of this is Fuji which has produced the Instax camera that instantly prints the first photo you snap. People loving it because it gives them the feeling of the uknown, its fun, and has a special connection to their past or how their grandparents preserved memories.

2. Digital photography

Levi Bettwieser had mentioned that digital photography has changed the way we feel, keep, manage and share our photographs. We have the ability to control what we want to shoot, can delete an image by a click of a button and very rarely do we print them out instead they are keep. Levi mentions that with Digital photography we find ways to create those moments that will make for a great photo rather than being in the moment.

There thousands of Industries that have taken advantages of digital photography. because its now easily accessible there are more and more photographers. There are software programs/business such as Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop that allow you to edit Digital files. To their advantage they charge a monthly/Annual subscription fee.

3. Camera phones

Anyone that owns a camera phone is a photographer. Camera phones have given us the advantage of capturing those quick moments or those rare moments you have always wanted to capture like when I was able to capture my boys first step, it is compact and that can fit in your pocket. uploading and sharing of images is instant.

I feel there are two main businesses that take advantage of the camera, first being Apple and Samsung, they are constantly upgrading their phone by upgrading the camera pixels as their biggest selling point and attraction for consumers.

Another business is Social media accounts such as Instagram, Snapchat, facebook, people can share and photos they want people to see. Camera phones have created a mobile business for average person who likes to document and share their life tips and tricks.

4. Go Pro

This is a photo of me taken with a Go Pro. Go Pro is a compact action camera/video that captures amazing quality images that is popular among extreme sports and such as surfing, ocean diving mountain bike riding, and even sky-diving. Here is a short clip of some of the places a Go Pro is being used.

Businesses that take advantages of this is the sports industry such as the Revenge at Red Bull Rampage 2016 games this gives the ability for the viewers at home to share the same perspective as the competitor, it creates emotion and adrenaline

5. Drone

Who would’ve thought a flying camera is possible. Drone gives a birds eye view, a perspective that is very rare and difficult to capture for those photosgraphers using a camera phone or dslr.

Business taking advantage of this is are film makers, travelers and sports one of my favourite accounts I follow who uses the drone in his vlogs is Saywer Hartmann. He has stated that there has been companies that have wanted to purchase his drone for thousands of dollars.

Photography is such an amazing industry to be apart of, From what I have shared you can see that photography is constantly pushed beyond our limits and being able to capture images from all different angles and perspectives and capture photos in the moment and create moments. There are thousands of business that take advantage of the photography industry, photography is everywhere, In advertisements, social media and sports. The innovations is only but a small portion of what is come and im excited to be a part of it.
