Day 8
One-hour-plan: Start my coding lesson.
Reality: Did some research and found something called “Twitter Bootstrap” which seems to be perfect building blocks to make websites easy and sleek. Then I realized I’d have some basic HTML and CSS knowledge anyway. I was hoping to hack it with zero coding background, but what was I thinking. Hubbie convinced me that I’ll need to learn from the basics.
So I got on codeacademy and it’s amazingly designed interactive class makes it not painful at all. I actually like learning it. It’s step by step and makes me feel I can actually do this. One hour passed by and I can’t believe I already created a basic very ugly list like webpage for airbnb!
How I feel: It’s doable! If I just stick to one hour per day everyday — this one hour would otherwise easily be spent on browsing online — I can’t help but imagine at the end of three months maybe I can really build my own website! I feel so confident and excited. I can’t wait for tomorrow’s one hour to learn the next lesson!
