Invisible Tears

Image by Stanley / Totally Transparent

I am
A body you know
This body you know so well
You watch me sit
Don’t judge my immobility
Hear the words
That don’t fall from my lips
Ashen lips, still
As winter air
If you could read them
Would they bloom again?

I bleed
Life’s liquid
Running through me
Away from my heart
Past my extremities
Perhaps you can’t see it
It is no less red
Heart no less drained
Body no less dead
My lips left unkissed
With the color of life.

The pain escapes
Down my face
Like liquid loss.
Does it?
Is it?
Why can you not
See me
Feel me
Absorb my tears
Wipe away my pain
Help me live again.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?
