Many thanks for sharing — your story is more important than ever. I remember as a little girl fifty years ago my mother telling me about these camps, but I don’t remember hearing about them in school. The overarching message has always been that Americans are different than people from other countries: we believe in individuals rights, we are understanding of differences and all embracing. Experiences like your family’s — and now the rhetoric out of the Trump administration — prove that we’re no better than anyone else and we must always be vigilant if we want to protect our rights.
