Thanks, Ezinne, you always sum up my own thoughts so much better than I! I am flabbergasted at how ordinary white people can’t grasp that it’s the rich white people — i.e., those with money, power, positions, connections,and influence — who are their real nemesis, and instead keep blaming all of the oppressed groups. How exactly do they think that you or I are pulling any strings without those advantages? I know that’s what the people in power encourage them to think, but it’s so completely illogical. I have explained it to them repeatedly and I think I’m reasonably articulate, but their eyes just glaze over. Guess they can’t deal with finding out that they don’t matter just like the majority of the country.
