Living in a Retro Health Care System
Kim Bellard

Interesting post. In my opinion health care has an identity crisis. I am currently followed by about 15 specialists (honestly I’ve lost count) and the list grows with every follow up appointment. Their systems are fully automated, however the bane of my existence is referrals and prescriptions. The doctor will type them into the system and they never go through. Regardless of the doctor or the office it takes an average of 5 phone calls to get a referral through, and when it finally goes through I’m calling around to neighbors who also work from home to see if anyone still has a fax machine so that I can send in my record release.
