The Curse of a New Building

Deja vue all over again.

I was with a startup. We were 3 per office. Cable bundles ran through the halls to server stacks for the experimental setups. First year.

We didn’t even get a new building. Just a much bigger one. With nice carpet. A coffee room. Lots of meeting rooms.

And with it, more staff. Soon I needed 3 signatures to get a 100 buck part — one of those sigs from head office 1000 miles away.

I gave 30 days notice. Then they fired me 2 days before the end of the 30 days.

A year later they were dust.
