In Person Drop

When we want to achieve something we need to go some extra miles for that. I wanted to get the job in Nestle and for that purpose I had to travel some extra miles. I prepared my resume and cover letter according to the supply chain management trainee position. I reviewed the company profile and got the names of HR head Mr. Shahzad Umer and Technical services head Mr. Naveed Khan and dressed professionally for the in person drop. I was completely prepared for the interview and gone through, over my elevator pitch almost 10 times.
I went to meet the HR manager of Nestle in Sheikhupura and the security staff on the gate said that Nestle receives all applications online, you may apply online and they did not let me in to meet the HR professional and asked me that if I know anyone from HR, I can call him and then he will call the security staff on the gate to let me in. But I did not know anyone personally.
I wanted to clear my position in front of him and I explained him that I just want to drop my C.V and cover letter. But they did not understand and I had to come back. Now I am planning to drop my in-person C.V and cover letter in NIMIR Chemicals and Haier.
In this activity, I had to face challenges related to getting the contact numbers or emails of respective HR personnel. And then in approaching them to drop my Resume. I tried to convince the security guard and told him the name of HR person, Mr. Adeel who is HR officer in Nestle, my friend told me about his name. But the guards seemed to be stubborn in their duty.
I think there were some loop holes in my preparation for the in person drop and I hope that next time, I will equip myself completely and then I will get the contact details of relevant HR person. After getting the contact details I will try to approach him through email or by a call and will ask for the appointment. When he will consider my request and will call me for the in person meeting I will present myself in a well prepared way. I would encourage all of my fellows that they should try their luck in travelling some extra miles to reach their goal.
