Session 1: Goldilocks & the three bears

Wonderful seeing new faces as we embarked on a new term. We repeated the friendly signals and what to do when someone’s shy for Kimochi… Probably did it too many times these few weeks and I had a no from my kids when I told them to ask their friend “Do you want to join me?” I didn't keep the feelings cards from another class and G remembered it from the class and tried very hard to match them. He really scrutinised the expressions of one of the cards and kimochi (brain was ticking). They were really captivated with the goldilocks story as I moved about with the book, the children followed too! For art, we did a small video explanation on batik then we did tie-dye apron and the fabric / batik painting. Some had a go at the batik painting instrument and A held it really well. BigS, SmallS and K really enjoyed the painting session. MiddleE enjoyed doodling and playing with paint. Everyone (mostly) remembered their “drip and drain” and washing their brushes in the bucket. Th children were not so interested in singing, but were happy to dance to the music, and go on the music trail to find animals. The story cards sequence went a little harder than expected, although most of the older children managed to go through the sequence. Mummies did an amazing job explaining and helping them put in…
