no to runaway sideline watching of burning causes
nothing ever matters in a dogs eat skinny dog world
no to bleeding in silence and weeping in smokehouses with ashes of my humanness
nothing will ever change with these words that you vomit in hellish despair
no to the stampede of the ones who can on the ones who couldn’t get away with stampedes on the ones who couldn’t escape the stampedes
nothing in staying behind to sweep aside the dead shredded remains of what once was a hope of conscience
