This week is NYC Refashion Week. It has a series of activities and events celebrating secondhand and sustainable fashion in New York. The events include Panel discussions by Circular Economy, Zero Waste NYC workshop, Discussion on re-use in fashion and interior design, and many more.

This ReFahsion week's idea of promoting recycling textile fits well with our startup project Fabriq.ai, so our team is very interested in learning more from the events.

For me, I went to the talk about waste and reuse in interior design and fashion at Big Reuse in Brooklyn. Big Reuse is a environmental organization committed to diverting waste from landfill and creating green jobs. At the event, we met a lot of great panelists. Each of them shared their philosophy of designing with used fabric and showed their deep concern about reducing waste and recycling used materials. I got the chance to ask Iman Leslie questions about what are the pain points in designing with used fabric. She shared her thoughts with us which was very valuable.

This week, we will be doing another alumni crit about our project and I will share more in the next post.
