Black is one of the most misunderstood color. A black tie or a dress worn at a dinner is very formal and classy yet the bad guys wear black hats and villains in movies wear black clothes especially in animated movies. Black symbolizes death in some cultures as it’s the color at funerals while Native Americans think that black is a good because it is the color of soil, which gives life. Also, Black mostly gives an impression of the product being expensive, it gives an impression of prestige and elegance and thus is commonly used in high-end products, such as smart phones, cars and formal clothing.

Black, however, is not a color. In fact it’s the absence of all colors. The opposite of black is White since white is created when all colors are blended. They both together create maximum possible contrast, this can also be seen from the Chinese philosophy of Yin & Yang which shows that everything that exists in the universe exists as inseparable and contradictory opposites, and holes in the diagram shows inter-dependency of both sides.

Even when looking in the context of Yin & Yang, the Yin part has many opposites with in itself too. Black color depicts two extremes because of which it is misunderstood. This can be seen in the posters I have attached below explaining my concept of how black shows being formal and organized as well as it shows fear, confusion and chaos. The posters basically define the nature of the color Black.
