Very interesting analogy!

I can say as a former educator (I taught college level physics many years ago) that I always aimed to test for “understanding”, and not just “knowing.” But I’m pretty sure I was in the minority. It’s much easier to whip up a multiple choice test.

It’s great to see an article that articulates the difference between the two and pushes us towards the higher goal.
