The Idea

We noticed that the crowdsource and crowdsharing services are gaining more popularity everyday. Inspired by such examples as Uber, BlaBlaCar, Airbnb, ZipCar and others, we decided to synthesize their best practices and business models to create a next-gen service that could help people ship things with ease and at lower costs and make extra money while traveling.

Unlike other crowdshipping services, Shipit fully addresses the issues of safety, reliability of both travelers and senders, usability and efficiency.

How It Works

Is It Safe?

Absolutely. If you need to ship a highly-valuable item, you can request a deposit (a collateral) to be created by a traveler who is ready to make a delivery and is willing to meet the deposit requirements. The deposit is refunded to one of the counterparties upon the delivery depending on its outcome.

Aside from that, we only allow verified users to create listings for international deliveries. The more stages of verification procedure the user passes, the more trustworthy they can be. Later on, each user is going to have a reputation built on history of transactions and other users’ reviews that will govern the trust.

Furthermore, we understand the risks of malicious actors attempting to ship illegal items by innocent travelers. To prevent that from happening, Shipit app allows only real-time photos of actual items. The app does not permit you upload photos from your device library or the Internet. The item in the picture must be fully ‘observable’: no wrapped, boxed or concealed in any other way items are allowed.

In the meanwhile moderators check every listing’s photos, description and personal data of both senders and travelers. In future, they will be replaced by neural networks and community’s efforts.

SHPT — Utility Token

Shipit app is still at its early stages of development. It is yet to be fitted with crypto wallet, blockchain and smart contracts.

These technologies are necessary to achieve several goals:

• to provide our users with payment mechanism that allows to execute transactions, including international ones, fast and safe;
• to make available payments in cryptocurrencies;
• to turn the app into a decentralized one thus ensuring safety of our users’ private data;
• to keep the record of user interactions required to fit the app with reliable user ratings that would guide users before picking a listing.

To achieve these goals we decided to create and implement our own SHPT token that all users of the app could use to make payments, reduce commissions, influence priority lists and create deposits under less demanding requirements.

Additionally, we target such huge markets as Asia-Pacific, Russia and Eastern Europe. Penetrating them is definitely going to be a challenge, though there are all premises necessary for our success, that will require a lot of efforts.
