Very interesting article. I have a very small startup (www.trext.me) that creates sms based convcomm platforms for companies. The challenges we face are very real. Firstly, not enough companies are thinking about convcomm is a serious way so we have the challenge of convincing them that it is the way of the future (which as a tiny company with no brand we struggle greatly with). Secondly, companies are too hung up on apps as the go to platform, they do not realize the advantages sms has over apps and think about sms in a very traditional way. Although the work we do is deeply impactful, changing the way in which companies function seems like a task too big for our tiny company. So as much as I believe in this idea I think good and disruptive solutions will never get mainstream attention.
2016 will be the year of conversational commerce
