Why shouldn’t you humanise slave owners and associated individuals involved in slavery?

We see prostitutes, thieves, murders and a assorted bevy of morally questionable individuals ‘humanised’ across filmography.

Slavery wasn’t even illegal. These were law abiding citizens who simply practiced their craft. Not sure why we should feel the need to enforce the casting of all slave owners as pure evil figures.

I think its a interesting concept so long as they don’t wimper to the cries of people like Alison Herman who wouldn’t like anything to rock their boat.
