My City: Ahmedabad
A City which holds a special place in my heart. People always love the city they born, where they brought up, where they have spent their childhoods, spent their time with family, etc. People even growing up, leaving the city because of career, family, etc. whatever the reason but it holds a special place in their heart. People don’t leave a chance to go to their home city and spent some days there. In childhood, children have no fear but when they grow up, they fear of drifting apart or replaced because leaving the city. The moments they spent there is never going to come back.
In this blog, I will write about my city which is Ahmedabad. I am not that scholar that i can write even a word about the city. The city has written billions of stories to people where i can only try to give a glimpse of the city. Ahmedabad is situated in Gujarat State of India on the western part. It was founded in the 15th Century. It’s the largest city in the state of Gujarat. It is believed to be lied around 500 kms with around 76 lacs of population. Ahmedabad is India’s first World Heritage City. Ahmedabad is endowed with rich architectural heritage. Ahmedabad has produced world’s best businessmens, cricketers, actors, scientists, dancers, saints, singers, etc. It has been hub to trade and commerce with known for textile industry.
There has been many places which is world famous and visited by thousands of travellers every day. One of them is Sabarmati Ashram, It was founded by the Mahatma Gandhi. Mahatma Gandhi was an Indian revolutionary. It was Mahatma’s home during the non-violent independence movement. Now, it serves as a museum and a tribute to the father of the nation. One more place which is a must visit attraction in ahmedabad is the Jama Masjid, which was built in 14th century and is one the largest in India and is known for its stunning carvings and architecture.
I can think of one more location that is the finest for spending time with friends, family, and/or yourself. The Sabarmati Riverfront is the ideal location. With playgrounds, gardens, sitting areas, and cycling areas, the riverfront is around ten kilometres long. Many folks visit there daily to enjoy some peace and quiet. There, people amuse themselves by consuming drinks, tea, and snacks. Everyone has fun there, young and old alike.
Even, Me and my friends used to find a way to go there, and whenever we did, whether it was at night on the weekends, occasionally during the week, or on a friend’s birthday, we would go, take tea with us, and chat for hours. We discuss stories, life, love, and other topics. Believe me, those were the ideal times and days since the riverfront used to be quite quiet and provided mental serenity.
The popularity of street food in India is another factor. Ahmedabad’s street cuisine, including the city’s Biryani, Kulfi, Chaat, and Pakoras, is a delight that shouldn’t be missed. But how can we overlook Manek Chowk when the time comes for street food? The words “manek” refers to diamond and “chowk” refer to market. The second-largest jewellery bazaar in India, Manek Chowk, only sells diamonds during the daytime but transforms into a foodie paradise after 9:30 p.m. There are numerous vendors providing Gujarati street food. Dosa, Bhajipav, Dabeli, etc. are a few of the things.
Ahmedabad offers everyone the best in traditional and contemporary Indian design, from handcrafted textiles to contemporary designer clothing.
