Hello, there! We are Team Purplle, presenting before you the clone of the Purplle Website. But before we dive into the specifics of our cloned website, here’s some background on Purplle.

Purplle is an Indian multi-brand beauty retailer selling cosmetic and wellness products. Founded by Manish Taneja and Rahul Dash, Purplle began as an online retailer in December 2011 and opened its first physical retail store at Phoenix Market City Kurla, Mumbai in January 2017. Purplle has a large assortment of products across 650 brands with 50,000 SKUs and 300 beauty specific sellers. Purplle provides all warehousing and logistics services to sellers to ensure quality of products and delivery is maintained. Purplle has tied up with 6,000 salons with detailed pricing information on the platform for customers to make a choice for the right service.

As a part of Construct week; conducted every unit in Masai curriculum, we were assigned the task to clone the Purplle website. We are currently in the final week of Unit 3. This unit introduced us to Advanced Javascript. The topics covered were as follows:-

  • Constructor Functions
  • Prototype and Inheritance
  • Promises
  • Closure
  • Fetch
  • Import Export
  • Introduction to Backend

We aimed to replicate the basic flow of this website and cover some important features this huge website contains. We cloned the home page, all products page, the product page, the cart, the sign-in and signup page and, the checkout page.

The tech stack used for this project is HTML for structuring, CSS for styling, Advanced Javascript and Local Storage.

Our team consisted of five members. We divided the responsibilities within the rest of the members and they were as follows:-

  1. MahBoob Asraf: MahBoob took care of the home page. He worked on the navigation bar and the footer that is consistent in all the pages.

2.Shivam Sharma(Me): I worked on the Sign in and Sign up.

3. Shweta Mane: Shweta worked on the all products page which displays a category of products, the individual product page, the cart and data collection.

4 . Karunesh Ranjan: Karunesh worked on the transaction and checkout page.

5. Vikas Khambra: Vikas worked on the offers page.

We tried our best to do justice to the entire project and we got to learn a lot during this week. We split the work based on our strengths and weaknesses. We coordinated and overcame all the obstacles together and we are happy about that.

I am grateful to Masai School for this opportunity. I am excited for the awesome projects that we will be working on in the upcoming units and looking forward to this amazing journey of learning by doing that is yet to unfold.
