You must own those denims that are the fashion staple in every wardrobe. The dearest ones keep rotating with the onset of each season. Chic, classy, comfortable and stylish are just some terms that describe these seasoned bottoms. Jeans alone can dress you up like a hippie, rock-star or a beloved celeb.

However, don’t stop experimenting and trying different ways to rock those tops along as you would. Available in a multitude of washes, finishes, and fits, jeans must be coupled with the right top to achieve the look you’ve been yearning for.

The kind of wash, rise and cut are pivotal factors in deciding the tops and shirts to match with the jeans. Understanding how they affect the look can help you make choices like a pro. Draw inspiration from the following styles that’ll leave the onlookers wanting to look like you.

Wash & Fade

Whiskered, sandblasted or acid washed — The wash or fade on a pair of denims are instrumental in deciding the colors of the tops that ought to compliment it. Moon washed jeans look stunning against tops in dark hues. Go for burgundy, navy blue, magenta, forest green or maroon-colored shirts/tops to bring out a stark contrast. Solid-colored jeans give wearers the freedom to play around with multi-colored or layered tops, patterns, and embroidery.

The Rise

Denims have waded their way into casual fashion and therefore been wrought in a variety of rises. Matching the rise of your jeans with the top depends on your body type. For example, low rise denims look great on senoritas with toned figures and a slim waist. Pair them up with a short top to achieve the college girl air. If you’re looking to shift the focus from your bottom, then mid-rise is the best fit for you. High rise skinny jeans for women pair amazingly well with tank tops.

The Cut

You can play with various sleeves if you focus on the cut of your denims. Straight cuts are the quintessential choice if you don’t feel like experimenting with the tops. Pair them with floral, plain or short and long tees. What’s more is that you can experiment with the necklines. Additionally, consider the boot cut if you want to sport boots with your attire. Skinny ripped jeans among other styles have marked such a place on our vogue manual that we just can’t get through the week without sporting those dapper skinny ripped jeans.
