The promise of Fiverr is interesting.
When you need it done fast and cheap, you go to Fiverr.
Fiverr is an online marketplace where every service offered starts as a price of $5.
Typically, the basic service is $5 with the opportunity for the business owner to purchase upgrades and upsells to make the service more comprehensive.
Here’s how it works:
First, you browse for the type of service that you need. You’ll get a wide array of service providers to choose from. Once you’ve chosen who you wish to work with, you can “order now”.
You upload your project requirements to the Fiverr system and within a few days you’ll have a completed project.
The question is, what kind of business tasks can you actually outsource on Fiverr?
And how will these tasks help you move your business forward?
Here are 8 of the best Fiverr gigs from entrepreneurs who have successfully used the platform to grow their business
Lining up blog posts on different sites ($5)
We’ve used Fiverr on a range of products, and overall we’ve been happy with the results. One thing that’s worked well for us has been lining up blog posts on different sites that mention our websites and content. Below is one service we used in which we paid someone to write and publish a short article about our company.
We’ve also used Fiverr for a quick website logo before. We were happy with the results, but I wouldn’t count on getting a high-quality, customized logo you can use long term as you grow your site. But Fiverr can be a great way to get an inexpensive logo you can use while you figure out what you really want out of your logo.
We’ve also used Fiverr to set up a professional voicemail greeting for a dentist’s office. This is another service Fiverr works great for. A professional greeting would have cost upwards of $100 a few years ago, but on Fiverr, you can choose from a number of excellent readers available starting at $5.
Design an infographic ($25-$50)
I use Fiverr all the time — it’s hard for me to choose my favorite gig! I’ll share the one that I believe has the most value to my business and my clients.
We’re known for our white hat link building services and one of our favorite couldn’t be done without the help of Fiverr. White hat link building is all about creating value for the target site — we do that by building custom infographics and pitching them to bloggers for publishing on their website.
In exchange for the awesome infographic, we just ask for link attribution back to the client. The infographic designer we use is on Fiverr and generally ranges in the $25 — $50 range to get one done and he does really good work for that price. We’re able to offer this service to small businesses because the cost is so low (our internal designers cost 10 times as much). I highly recommend this gig!
Rank Website On Page 1
I worked with a Fiverr SEO Specialist to rank a site.
The sites took a while to rank, but now it ranks on the first page of Google for the keyword phrase… HOW DOES FIVERR WORK. If I search this term, my current ranking is… position 6, page one of Google, I get over 330 visitors/mo to my site from the post.
So to me, a website developer, it was a great investment. Here’s the link to the gig, he charges a bit more nowadays and here’s a link to the post.
Get a video intro/outro (starting at $5)
I run my own online business it’s been just over 1 year now and let me tell you it is not cheap!
Need ads? Need business card designs? Anything you can think of is going to cost you. I was doing some video marketing a while back, and still do from time to time. I found Fiverr through a friend who was using it.
I needed an intro and outro video scene for my personal videos. Fiverr let’s you find ‘Gigs’ for $5. Anything you need you can get done for $5. Some even offer extra offers in the same Gig for an extra $5 or 10$ depending on what you need. I personally used this one:
Working with the Fiverr freelancer is super easy. The Gig is already very descriptive and straightforward. All you need to do is provide what the freelancer asks for. I gave my sentence that I wanted incorporated into the video and not even 24hrs later I received my file through the Fiverr inbox system of the video ready to go. All that for an easy $5 U.S. (note to all Canadians
Creation of podcast intro/outro (starting at $5)
I’m a big Fiverr fan! I was a bit of a skeptic in the beginning because I was like “really? Only $5?!” I soon found out there was nothing to be skeptical about. It’s been an incredible resource for my business to outsource all of the £10 tasks that use to prevent me from working ON my business.
Where Fiverr has benefited me the most is with my Podcast. Having someone to produce the intro and outro to make that connection with my audience (anywhere between $5 and $35) was well worth every penny. As I move to episode 100, I’ll be rebranding and using the same person which is the gig I highly recommend for anyone starting out in the world of Podcasting.
My Fiverr experience overall has been five stars. I also use someone to edit Podcast episodes, and I recently found a fab video editor to work with.
Content writing for website (starting at $5)
I run a website that reviews snorkel gear and provides information for the best snorkeling adventures.
Over the years, I’ve bought a lot of gigs on Fiverr. I actually worked on Fiverr for a while, too. My favorite gigs are those content writers that really give you their best work in hopes of getting repeat sales and even up-sells, which I’m willing to do if it makes sense. When you find that one person who writes in the tone, voice, and accuracy that you want…they’re a lifesaver. I write most of my own content for my sites but when I can’t then it’s nice to know that I have a writer that already knows me and is already proven in my eyes, too.
For great content writing and product review gigs, I recommend: Saraswatimaha. She excels in conversational and detailed content on many topics.
I also recommend kenmore005 I’ve gone to Ken on more than one occasion for product reviews on everything from snorkel gear to leather bags for men. He is often very busy but that is a testament to his talent.

Write a script for a custom video ($5)
I think Fiverr is a secret weapon for small business owners who have way too much to do and a small budget. In my business, I use Fiverr for a variety of tasks from posting my tweets to creating Facebook ads. These projects are well done and allow me to focus on building client relationships.
Most recently, I hired a Fiverr team- writer, video editor and music- to create a custom sales video for my site. Locally, I would have spent $350 to have a consultant give me a story outline. On Fiverr I got the entire quality video for less than $300. Clients love the video and I couldn’t have done it anywhere else.
Here’s the link to the provider who wrote my script, Gregcreates.
Get an iOS app tested ($5)
This has been a challenging and frustrating project I’ve been trying to figure out what to do. I offered it to my friends and family and I only managed to get 4 people to test the app. And I offered to pay them $20 each for something that takes 15 minutes. Then finally it dawned on me, “Well, duh, I ought to use Fiverr to get this done.”
I am a perfectionist and I love everything done just perfectly. But the thing is, when you’ve got a lot of work to do, getting someone to do it and show up for it is the most important part. I have a lot of things to do so I’m trying to do as much as I can, as good as I can.
The key to doing that is to accept small losses and focus on big wins. Getting this entire app tested is a big win for me. The problem is if I don’t get it done, what I risk losing is much bigger than making a few mistakes ordering on Fiverr.
The truth is: I love Fiverr.
I’ve worked with some very amazing freelancers and professionals on the platform. I’ve scored some of the best Fiverr gigs myself. However, Fiverr does have its limits.
If you’re looking for high grade, best of the best, work, then you’re not going to find it on Fiverr. After all, there are some things that you get what you pay for.
However, if you’re looking for something right now, whether that’s a quick and dirty logo to put on an early version of a website, or find people to test your app, or any one of the services listed above, then Fiverr can be exactly the marketplace you’re looking for.
