2016 Top 28 Apps
I saw somebody else on Medium do this. He had screenshot his top apps on his homepage and I thought immediately, how frickin cool!! So here I am mimicking his lead! The top 4 as of today is my Text Message, Phone, aNote and Line. Three out of the four is used to communicate with folks, aNote is something I use to journal, track my thoughts, leave notes, to-do lists, etc. Overall it is probably one of my favorite apps ever.
The other 24 apps on my home screen. Where do I even begin. 1st row up top is bone stock, it’s native apps that comes built in with the iPhone 6 Plus I’m using. Calendar, Camera and Photos are pretty much what they are, apps I use almost daily if not more like always. Nothing special but just things I need and even though I live in Southern California, I still find myself checking the Weather app quite often, maybe too often (it’s not always blue skies and sunshine). What I catch myself doing often times is checking the weather of cities around the world for whatever apparent reason, just to see and imagine what it would be like if I was in cities I been to such as London, Amsterdam, Beijing or Seattle. Also have cities in there that I hope one day to travel to, Portland, Vancouver, Toronto, Aspen, Rome, Ibiza and Barcelona come to mind.
- Shubook, great app to download and read books. I think I’ve downloaded about 100+ books. One of my goals this year is to read a new book every week.
- iBooks, besides being great for books, I use it to read the PDFs that are sent to me for work or study materials. Especially cool cause lots of cookbooks I have are in PDF format, check out FlavorGod if anyone reading this needs some awesome flavored seasonings.
- YouTube, this one is self explanatory. This is where I go when I am bored or need to learn how to do something. What would we do without YouTube?
- MovieBox, for those of you iPhone users like me, who jailbreak their devices, I’m sure this has got to be one of the coolest apps ever! This app allows me to stream movies and TV shows, anywhere anytime.
- Google Maps, need this to help me find routes to avoid LA traffic.
- MusicBox, another jailbroken app, let’s me download music. Another must have app like MovieBox.
- Reminders, sorta like my secretary. Super helpful cause I have a million things going on and always forget the simplest things that I need to do. Like pick up dry clean or jump on a conference call.
- Inbox, I hate email. But this app is pretty cool, helps categorize everything so I like it.
- Safari, this is how I surf the World Wide Web.
- Up, I have a Jawbone fitness tracker. Tracks my steps and my sleep. Very basic.
- Google, just started using this instead of going into Safari and then going to google.com, saves time which is awesome!
- GroupMe, chat app. Keeps me connected to family and business partners.
- Running, records my runs and tells me how slow or fast I am running or walking each mile. Cool feature is after a run, I share it on Facebook, my friends can see the route and my times. Helps my running coaches and fellow runners know how I am doing on my trainings.
- Yelp, another one of those what would we do without apps. Goal is to start contributing to the community this year. I surmise that it must be pretty cool to get invited to tastings and have that “Elite” tag next to your handle.
- Arsenal, I fell in love with futbol and became an instant Gunners supporter during my time in North London in 2009. #COYG
- Wunderlist, just started using this as well. Still learning all the features but I love the UI. Simple and refreshing.
- Starbucks, my name is Bee and I am an addict. I love coffee. It sucks the holidays are over and there’s no more Caramel Brûlée Lattes, only 11 more months of waiting. Red eyes and black eyes on mornings I have when I’m short on sleep, but my go to has been white mochas in the morning and iced caramel macchiatos in the afternoon.
- Notes, you’ll find me writing random quotes in here I hear on the radio or watching TV or when I’m reading a book or article. Anything goes. It’s unorganized chaos of randomness.
- Medium, my brother introduced me about this app and now for the first time ever I am writing posts about everything and anything that comes to mind. Thanks big bro!
- Flipboard, my app to keep up to date with the world and what’s going on in the news.
Let’s see what changes I will make to my home screen in 365 days. Until then, adieu!!!
