J&K is on every tourist’s list as it has a lot of experience to offer to the people visiting the place from exploring places to adventure sports, a lot of beautiful places to explore such as Dal Lake which is located in the heart of Srinagar it is one of its kind as people live on houseboats known as shikara. HISTORY:

Gulab Singh was the founder and first Maharaja of the state of Jammu & Kashmir. In the year 1846 from the territories under Sikh after the first Indo-Angelo war which was later annexed by the East India Company some of the places are Jammu, Ladakh and Gilgit-Baltistan which was later on given to Gulab Singh for a mere price of 7.5 lakhs. The last ruler of J&K after British left from India was Raja Hari Singh who signed a treaty to stay as a neutral and an independent state between India and Pakistan. It was later that the raja decided and signed a treaty to become a part of India under the pressure and invasion of foreign intruders. That resulted in a series of wars under the first president of India Lal Bahadur Shastri. It is still a hot point of discussion between both the countries, as tense situations are pretty evident even now on both sides of the border. It is the country’s pride and also gives strategic advantages to India in terms of defence from other countries because of steep terrain and harsh climate. The Himalayas and the Siachen glaciers act as natural defence and give an advantage to it its protectors.

Indo-Pakistan relations:

Part of Kashmir is in Pakistan which is known as POK-(Pakistan occupied Kashmir ) and some area of Ladakh in China which is the reason for a series of war between India and Pakistan in which India emerged victorious in all the four wars (1947,1965,1971,1999), but many brave hearts were martyred. While saving the motherland which resulted in a division of land, bloodshed, the formation of borders and the situation is just becoming worse as still, the condition stays the same to get the control over the full of J&K and show their dominance. But the government of India & Pakistan is trying to mend the gap by various schemes such as running the Amar Shanti Express, import and export of different variety fruits and textile. I hope that the bridge between the two nations is filled and a loving relationship is formed between both the countries and live in peace.

Nation’s Pride:

The literacy rate of Jammu and Kashmir is 69% approx and is gradually increasing as the government is taking a lot of initiatives to make children from backward background to go to school, and colleges. Even the Indian Army is playing an important role in remote areas to teach students and giving proper medicines to the affected, and the children are showing a keen interest in studies and with their determination clearing various exams to study in good colleges for a better future. Even the sports and other fields are not behind as a lot of talented people who are coming from small villages to showcase their talent, and the government is also helping them, so their talent does not get wasted. Overall the state in war has progressed a lot and come out of the clutches of partition, war and politics to achieve success and is fighting against all the odds to get better every day. The import and export of J&K are also in full blooms like apples, walnuts and dry fruits which are enjoyed by people all over the country. Here people of all religion celebrate the festivals of other religion with the same enthusiasm as their own and promote brotherhood. In the end, would love to say try to spend some days in J&K and enjoy the place as well the history it has to it. The land of heroism and full of culture
