You’re shaping someone’s reality

Have you tried living from someone else’s point of view? It’s a bit silly but have you ever been in a room full of people and just tried to transport yourself into someone else’s body & mind? Just think about how carefully you speak and everything that you do speak comes from opinions that were formed after years of experience. Next time you’re sitting and chatting up with someone just try to think how much their words mean to them, just as yours mean to you. Every word being spoken is coming out from a certain memory about how an individual has perceived the world.

Most of our world perception gets formed when we’re just growing up as kids. Most of us love kids. I’m a guy in my mid-20s and I have been fortunate to have a nephew & a niece, both of them 5 years old. We’re just happy to be around kids as we love how beautiful they’re, and all of the little things that they do make us so happy. Whenever I’m with my nephew or niece, I try to pay a little ‘extra’ attention to every word they say and every action they make. They as themselves are new beings in this big crazy world who are just forming themselves and creating their own identity.

Children don’t question their being but are just completely soaked in the act of living.

We on the outside are major characters in the story of their life. So every time they play a song and dance to it in front of us — they expect our full attention. Every action of yours is building their perception about themselves and defining their core beliefs. And hence, it is so important for us to hold ourselves responsible for setting the right examples for kids by our actions and making them feel heard.

While childhood sets the base for our life, there’s a lot of learning that happens at further stages. Your perception of love is formed. You understand what politics is. As you meet enough people you start tagging certain characteristics as good & bad based on your experiences with people. Your first relationship didn’t work out and you ended up associating all characteristics of your ex as negative. Similarly, do you remember that annoying ‘co-worker’ (for a better word) in the office who always troubled you? Their actions led you to form an opinion of them in your head and now you perceive them in a certain way. They have also led you to believe that other people who show similar traits are bad for you & evil in general.

While we all want to live life on our terms the bottomline is that your reality is primarily created by the people around you, and similarly, your actions are shaping someone else’s reality.

You could be the reason why someone takes the next step to explore their talent or the reason why someone believes in love. Your words could hold the potential to make someone’s day and while you might not be someone who shoots webs, you can be that friendly neighborhood nice-man!

You have an infinite power in you to bring change.
