Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque
The Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, which was finished in 2001 and holds 20,000 worshipers, is made of 300,000 tons of Indian sandstone. It served as the sultan’s gift to the country in honor of his 30th year in power. The largest chandelier in the world illuminates the hand-loomed Persian carpet in the main hall, which is the second largest of its kind and was woven by 600 women over the course of four years.

The Royal Opera House — The royal opera theater was constructed on the sultan’s royal instructions because of his love of classical music and the arts, and it was inaugurated in 2011. The opera building features stunning interior design and modern Omani architecture. Up to 1,100 people can fit in the main hall and theater, both of which are accessible to the public every day.
