Self esteem : The most important lesson I learnt

When you have a healthy self esteem, anything else has little impact on how you feel about yourself and your life
Of all the things that I have worked upon during the process of self improvement, self esteem has had the biggest impact on the quality of my life and after trying a lot of techniques for achieving a healthy self esteem,I am here to share the most basic yet most profound lesson I ever learnt about the process.
So,what is self esteem?
The first step towards achieving something is to understand what it really means, right? But how many of us are actually clear about what we are trying to achieve when we start jotting down a list of our achievements in hopes of reaching a fabled place of being comfortable in our own skin,of feeling good about being ourselves.
Self esteem in its most fundamental form is simply the realisation that your worth is actually independent of whatever achievements you have(or don’t).You are a part of humanity just by being present here,in human form,on earth, being alive.Every human being alive deserves dignity and space on this earth. So do you (and here lies something really important about self esteem,Its much more about you having respect for all the human beings and seeing your self as a part of humanity, manifestation of creative energy if universe,if that’s what you want to say,and developing a level of respect for everyone and in the process, raising your own self respect)
Lack of self worth often manifests itself by forcing us to believe that we need to be special, achieve something extraordinary. That we need to drive latest car,own a huge house to be able to gain respect of others and more often than not we also link our worth to these false accomplishments.
I say false because this whole system, the grand scheme of things is bit by bit designed by someone exactly like us.All the philosophies, doctrines of politics, art and culture, everything is made by someone who looked like us and possessed same minds likes us.None of them had any superpowers to know without doubt that what they are doing is ultimately correct. For all we know, everything that we know now can be utter stupidity,a string of misconceptions about life,at the end there’s no proof.(We could be in the matrix, who knows!)
So when we have no ‘truely' established ideals of what is right and what is wrong, who is anyone to decide how you should be judged and why?
Secret of self esteem lies in realising that you are not bound by any definition of worth.
Whether you are good or not,at something, doesnt matter. You are!.Thats all that matters. You are worthy of taking up space here on earth and the proof is that you are still here, surviving and thriving.
So take up your space, let your voice be heard, think independently, design your life, define your values, decide for yourself, how you are going to fit in or maybe, stand out!
