I love this. Having gone through several of these experiences in my life thus far (divorce, unemployment, chronic illness, betrayal), this piece really spoke to me. It’s so true that, when you can finally appreciate your life again, you know you’ve made it through the darkness. And, if you’re lucky, you’ve changed for the better; the darkness gave you perspective, insight, strength.
