I think I’m now a fan.

I recently decided to watch all the Marvel movies, only after watching Endgame. Clearly, I got the timeline wrong. I’ve also always wondered why are people such huge Marvel fans, what is it about the movies and characters that are so captivating?

After watching one movie every night, with breaks on some nights, I got my answer.

Following the actual timeline of the story, here is a little about what I think of each movie because the title says it all. Also, we’re talking about 23 movies here.

Set during World War II, the oldest superhero/Avenger is born.

Chinese New Year or Lunar New Year, the biggest celebration in Chinese culture is less than two weeks away. For the past few years, Apple has taken this opportunity to connect with the Chinese audience and essentially, spoke their language through their products and visuals.

No one can deny that Apple is practically the king of marketing. Chirag Kulkarni shared about Apple’s marketing and he’s got every point right. Here are a few from his article:

  • Focus on a unique value proposition rather than price.
  • Create experiences.
  • Use the audience’s language and speak to them.
  • Reach out to the audience’s…

Hello, January 2021!

Just because the last digit of the year increased by one doesn’t mean everything is back to how it’s like before March 2020.

Reminder: COVID-19 isn’t over yet.

When starting a new year, people will be sharing their New Year’s Resolutions. Of course, I’ve done that. The result? Didn’t work for me.

Remember when you set a New Year’s Resolution to achieve your goal of losing 10 lbs. The first month, you were heading to the gym at least 4 times a week, super motivated to hit your goal. How long did that last? …

I found out about These Violent Delights and its author, Chloe Gong, who is one of 2020's youngest New York Times best-selling authors. Along with a monster and a Romeo and Juliet inspired romance set in 1920s Shanghai, the book did not disappoint.

Here is what These Violent Delights is about:

In a Romeo and Juliet retelling, our lead characters are Roma and Juliette. 18 years old Juliette, returned to Shanghai to resume her role as the heir of the Scarlet Gang. Then, a series of mysterious deaths happened all over the city, forcing her to make a decision to…

Looking back to reflect and ensure a better future for ourselves

2020 is not a wasted year, look back but don’t dwell on it to make a better future for ourselves

We’re halfway through January 2021 and I do look back, thinking how 2020 was like for me. I didn’t have more time in 2020 than I did before this crazy year but I had enough time to reevaluate myself, my lifestyle, my health, and make positive changes.

Here is a little about how my 2020 went:

The ups:

  • Had more time to reconnect with my friends in my home country. Thank you technology for all the video calls I had.
  • Gained new skills and my part-time job helped me to learn more and unlearn what I didn’t need.
  • Set a…

Understanding irrationality is important for our everyday actions and decisions

I’ve always found the human mind interesting and why we make the decisions we make. After browsing countless books on behavioral economics in bookstores, I stumbled upon Dan Ariely’s Predictably Irrational.

These two words are unique, aren’t they?

Learning about human irrationality through this book, about us being far from perfection has been truly exciting. This is why I’d like to share three of Dan’s principles and experiments and how I could relate to them.

As he told me to, after reading each chapter, I took a moment to think about the principles. …

One of Spotify’s largest marketing and social campaigns is Spotify Wrapped. It is also the campaign we’ve all been waiting for, at least for me. As it’s been a tough year for everyone, the Wrapped campaign doesn’t just remind us that the year is almost over, but the campaign is also about gratitude and resilience.

“So instead of turning our backs in 2020, we wanted to pay tribute to those who gave us hope — the people who, despite difficult circumstances, found ways to bring magic into our world and give us hope for a better tomorrow. ”

How A Job Interview Taught Me About Making Choices
How A Job Interview Taught Me About Making Choices

Like many others, I am currently searching for a job. It is tough, it is more challenging than before and at the end of the day, all you want to hear is good news. So being able to get to round two of the interview for a company and job that I am interested in, I was filled with joy, hope, and expectation.

That was a mistake. Never set high expectations when it comes to interviews.

My recent interview was nothing like I expected. As…

Challenging but rewarding.

For many years, I’ve been reading countless blog posts and watching Youtube videos constantly about having a morning routine or being a morning person. I still do. There’s just something about this that makes me click on them.

To be honest, I read and watch them for entertainment as the content is pretty much the same. This isn’t in order but this is what it is — make your bed, meditate, go through your to-do list, exercise, don’t check emails right after you wake up, plan your day, set your daily goals, and so on.

Please tell me I’m not…

For coffee and non-coffee lovers

I came across this book — Before The Coffee Gets Cold when I was in Shakespeare & Co. in Paris. The cover and title of the book definitely caught my eye. As a coffee lover, I wonder what the author is trying to tell us when the coffee gets cold. Because I still drink mine even when it no longer hot.

Written by a Japanese author and translated into English, this book is about a cafe in Tokyo that offers a time-traveling opportunity. …
