Much needed breath of common sense about yoga, but maybe it’s not all that common. I think as a society we want to rush and prove everyone and everything wrong that does not align exactly with how we would like things to be. And we call it individual aspiration.
The pot of gold lies at the point of delicate balance between the individual’s goals and drive, and the wisdom of generations of past experience. And no, nobody can tell us, we have to each find our own.
That is the beauty of yoga, it nudges you towards using direct experience as your teacher, but within the scaffolding of tradition. Leaning too much in one direction or the other is not going to work.
