Chapter 3: The Blue Valley Mountain City

Henry arrived at the Blue Mountain Valley train station. As he stepped onto the platform, he noticed the bustling crowd and realized that this city and its station could be very busy. The beauty and richness of the station took him aback; it looked like a slice of heaven with its wonderful decorations. Surrounding the station were snow and ice-covered mountains, giving it a festive appearance, though this was just the norm for the city. Unlike Henry’s hometown of Dingo, which was small and dusty with no proper city regulations or cleanliness focus, the Blue Valley Mountain City exuded opulence amidst its snow-capped surroundings. Here, the wealthy indulged in pleasure while the poor struggled for survival in their daily lives.

Exiting the station, Henry observed Aisha engaging with some young boys, who referred to her as the young mistress. He realized that not only did she possess a higher status in appearance, but also within her clan.

Soon, the Blue Valley Mountain initiated a treasure hunt competition where the grand prize was a magical necklace. This necklace had the unique ability to absorb 25% of the power of an opponent or individual and transfer it to its owner. According to a magical book, it ranked in the epic range as the 29th item among 1000 magical artifacts. This rarity made it highly sought after, attracting students from various regions eager to claim it.

In this world, magical items were categorized into four types: defensive, offensive, storage, and empowering tools. These types were further divided into four ranges: legendary, epic, rare, and normal. Normal weapons were abundant in the world, crafted by ordinary weapon masters. Rare weapons were exclusive to clans, requiring permission from their masters for use. Epic weapons were reserved for royal bloodlines, with only 1000 available worldwide. Finally, legendary weapons, such as the Golden Dragon Sword ranked 19th, the Red Phoenix Lamp ranked 25th, and the Sun and Moon Bows ranked 15th, were exceedingly rare.

Aisha wielded a Silver Dragon Sword, an epic offensive weapon ranked 345th. The old man who sought to harm Aisha wielded a Lion Stick, another epic weapon ranked 321st.

Upon entering the city, Henry’s hunger led him to a restaurant where he enjoyed a satisfying meal. Intrigued by news of the competition, he decided to try his luck and join. Reading through the competition rules and studying past competitions, he sought to understand the survival rate and potential risks. Satisfied with his research, he confidently embarked on the joining process, eager to participate.
