GSoC 2020 : Second Evaluation
After a long break from blogs I am back It was my Second Evaluation this week.
And … I passed my second evaluation and I thought this is the time to start blogging again since my final exams are over too.
Update of past few weeks for which I missed my blogs:
- Made a separate repository for CircuitVerse-Simulator code.
- Completed testing, added tests for all elements and some more UI corner cases.
- Started working on CircuitVerse Electron App using the separate simulator repository as GitHub sub-module.
For the Electron app, since I am using the same frontend files I will be using for main website (with some additional code for electron platform) I will be using isElectron npm package to detect the platform and accordingly provide a native desktop experience.
Since the plan is for using the same files with only little changes, after some discussion with my mentor we have decided to avoid tabs for multiple instances of different projects in same app and user will have to open different windows for opening different instances of the app.
At the moment I am way ahead of schedule and now before final evaluations my aim is to set a proper documentation for the separate repositories so they can be tested well before I integrate them with the new UI being made by Abstrekt.
