“I don’t always say sexist things, but when I do it’s because the woman is a lberal and deserves it”. That’s an excuse I’d not be surprised to hear. For all this talk of racism and sexism being “over” there’s certainly more than enough examples of it on the Internets. A culture of systematic denial also includes ridiculous ideas such as “you know who talks about racism? Racists that’s who”? Yes, because the Civil Rights movement and healing racial divisions were all enhanced by not talking about racism.
