Stages of Spiritual Sadhana
The beginning of spiritual sadhana is purification of the mind through meditation discipline and taking the meditative state out into the world, as much as possible.
Transmission is in two phases. The outer phase is learning, through study and practice, the exoteric meaning of the transcendent state. The inner phase is learning through direct knowing, the fullness of the emptiness.
Transcendence is being established in the inner stillness. living your life from the place of the peaceful presence.
- You want more that what you have.
- You fear losing what you do have.
- You want something to be different than it is.
There appears to be three problems, but there is only one problem—the mind. The solution to the problem is to become the watcher of the mind; then lose interest in the drama.
In the stillness, the impartial witness transcends the suffering of the mind and attains freedom.
It’s quite simple really, we are already enlightened and perfect;
only the mind is in the way of realization.
